Real talk, this thing is not a good idea for me. Last time we posted about this, people told me it was maybe not the best thing, and I definitely cannot afford to be dropping cash on novelty game systems right now, with my current circumstances.
However, I see that it’s even cheaper on Amazon now, and HNNNNNNNNGGGHHHHH.

The RetroN 5
Five because the RetroN 5 will support NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, Famicom and Game Boy Advanced cartridges, though it’s also kind of seven because Game Boy Color and original Game Boy games will be good to go, too. Hyperkin is looking at a July release and a price under $100, which will include two universal bluetooth controllers. The console will also have two controller ports for each system. NES and Famicom use the same ports, and the SNES controllers will double for Game Boy games. RetroN5 will also have HDMI connectivity and upscale games to 720p.
I really need to remember to carry my ear buds while I’m out so I can actually listen to posted chip tracks from my phone. I guess I’ll just cry the whole bus ride, instead.

Toy Company is a series of lo-fi electronic/8-bit shows that happen in Montreal, Quebec, organized mostly by the local chiptune scene. The above video is a highlight reel from the latest event in the Satosphere at Société des Arts Technologiques (SAT) on March 2, 2013.
The artists featured at this year’s Nuit Blanche were: Fade Runner (formerly known as ???), XC3N, Pocaille, Das Mörtal and Procyon Lotor. Between all of them they use some combination of LSDJ, LittleGPTracker, Plogue Chipsounds and more to make their music.
